I know I've been on a REEEEAAAALLY long haitus (about two years with random visits here and then), but I am now trying to come back!

DOOMSDAY THOUGHTS

It's NOT the end of the world. But if it is, I LOVE YOU ALL
You know, based on where the Mayans lived on the planet, their December 21 is America's December 22. So everyone is going to be freaking out a day early.
How was that going to work, anyway? Was everyone assuming that their timezone would die according to when that timezone's 12/21/12 happened?
FOUR REASONS THE WORLD ISN'T ENDING:
1. The Mayans didn't include leap years in their calendar. Therefore, the world should have 'ended' seven months ago.
2. The Mayans made dozens of these calendars, each with different 'dooms-days'. They'd start on one, change their minds, then start on another one.
3. How can the Mayans possibly foresee the end of the world if they couldn't even foresee the explorers that wiped them out?
4. Since I've been born, there have been at least five other 'ends of the world'. We're still here.
NASA HAS PROVEN THE WORLD WON'T END. www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/feat… You gotta believe the NASA peeps. They be smart cookies.
12 - 21 - 12. That date just seems pretty made up to me. TWELVE - BACKWARDS-TWELVE - TWELVE.
YOU CAN'T PREDICT THE END OF THE WORLD. IT WILL JUST HAPPEN.
The world will not explode. The sun will not explode. No zombies or aliens or whatever are suddenly going to appear. 12/21/12
is just another date.
You know, it's really depressing to know that so many people are going to kill themselves only 4 days before Christmas, just because some old rock said the world is going to end that day.
Just a little message to those planning on doing something drastic - unless there is an actual meteor hurling towards you, don't go and do something stupid.
The good is so good that the bad pales in comparison:
The Bad - There is a very slim chance that on Dec. 21, another crack-pot end-of-the-world theory might actually come true (Though most likely won't - we've been here dozens of times before).
The Good - There are people out there who love you. Even though I don't know you, I love you - now which sounds better, the good or the bad?
So just listen to this - life will go on after the 21. There will be Christmas, there will be New Years, there will be 2013. Life will go on - so please, choose to live on with us.
